Introduction
The Court of Appeal issues Civil Practice Directives pursuant to Rule 58(1) of the Court of Appeal Rules.
They are intended to provide guidance in the conduct of an appeal.
Practice Directives do not have the same force of law as the formal enactments in the Court of Appeal Act and Rules, but they express the view of the Court regarding matters of practice and procedure. Litigants and practitioners are expected to comply with them or show good reason for doing otherwise.
